Welcome to the Citizen University information center.

Because informed citizens are a valuable resource for our community, the Citizen University has emerged as an important tool to foster an enhanced knowledge of Eaton County government for any interested citizen age 16 years and older.

Registration is currently underway!  Click here for an Informational Brochure!

Our Mission

The university’s mission is to provide an opportunity for citizens, age 16 and up, to actively discover how Eaton County government works in a changing world of complexity, diversity, and inter-dependency.

The university program serves as an introduction to many of the prominent service areas provided by the county. These areas will be explored and explained by county officials and staff allowing you direct contact with many of your elected leaders.

As you experience the university setting, we hope you will take away an improved understanding of your county government and the importance of citizen involvement in public service. Who knows, you just might discover that you are one of the next emerging community leaders.  Click here for the 2010 Citizen University tentative program schedule.  A nominal fee of $25.00 per attendee is required to confirm your participation.  For additional information, contact the program coordinator:
