Horses and The Environment will give you the tools needed to improve your farm and your horses’ environmental impact. We will cover Right-to-Farm information, Farm Bill Programs cost share that you maybe eligible for, pasture and manure management and farm emergency plans. Horse owners both suburban/urban and rural, face many management issues do to close proximity to neighbors and the typically smaller acreage of horse farms that can intensify environmental and liability problems.

· There is a $15.00 per person or $20.00 per farm fee (one set of handouts per farmstead).

· We ask everyone to please register on of before April 25th, 2008

· So we can acquire the proper soil maps and air photos of each farm we are requesting the farm street addresses as well as “directions” (Ex. Eaton County, Vermontville Township, on the north side of Vermontville Rd between Brown & Bradley roads.)

· Also we ask, if possible, to bring photos of your; barn yard, watering faculties, manure storage, paddocks or pasture areas, as this visual information will assist in setting up your plans.
