The Waste Reduction Awards Program, or WRAP, began in 2002. Its steering committee con consists of professionals from the fields of Waste Reduction and Resource Recovery. The mission of WRAP is to publicly acknowledge the exemplary efforts in waste reduction, recycling, reuse and energy efficiency by businesses, individuals, educational institutions, non-profit agencies and government entities. By highlighting the worthwhile efforts of WRAP winners, the WRAP committee hopes to educate residents in the tri-county region and encourage them to step up with their own efforts.
