Property Section

Property under control of the Sheriff's Office is stored by the Property Section. Evidence is safeguarded until sent to the crime laboratory for analysis or until needed for court. Lost/found property is housed for safekeeping at the property section. Thousands of items are processed through the property section yearly.

Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

If you need to pick up property from the property section, call Deputy Mark Layher for an appointment at 517-543-5261 prior to coming to the Department. The property officer is often at court, the crime laboratory or away on official business and not always available to walk-ins.
