DBA-Certificate of Assumed Name

Business Name Registration Information

Doing Business As (DBA) or Assumed Name and Co-Partnership

Anyone who owns or conducts a business in Eaton County must register the name of the
business with the County Clerk. Filings at the County level are for sole proprietorships and Co-Partnerships. The business registration is good for 5 years and is renewable 30 days prior to expiration.

If you own a Corporation, LLC, LLP, Limited Partnerships and Non-Profit Organization, you would file at the State level at the Corporations Division. (see information in the Resources section below)

If you have questions call our office, at 517-543-2426

Zoning Considerations

There is a Zoning Ordinance in Eaton County

You may need a Conditional Use Permit to do business in your home.
If you have questions regarding a conditional use permit please contact the Community Development Department by phone (517) 543-3689 or (517) 485-3417 extension 3689.

If you live in or operate your business out of any of the below listed jurisdictions you must contact the Clerk of that jurisdiction regarding zoning questions or issues.
