The Eaton County Youth Facility operates a coed 8 bed juvenile detention unit which houses juveniles who have been court ordered by the Eaton County Circuit, Juvenile/ Family or Probate Courts. While detained on the unit youth are provided a safe, supportive, and structured environment while being monitored 24 hours a day by our highly trained staff.
Youth participate in various educational programs, discussion groups, recreation/gym and other activities along with having various job responsibilities. Youth have weekly goals developed (contracts) to help improve on specific behaviors and skills to better help them reintegrate into the community.
Detention Services Offered to Youth:
Within 7 days of admittance residents are seen by a nurse from Eaton County Health and Rehabilitation Services. As well as given basic medical needs and services.
Counseling services by an in house therapist.
Residents attend school 5 days a week with
Teachers who coordinate with Grand Ledge Public School District. The school system does accommodate special education services. (Youth go to school year round)
Youth for Christ is available once a week for those residents that are interested in their spiritual growth.
