[ARCHIVED] CDBG Housing Emergency Repair Program Public Hearing

EATON COUNTY

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Eaton County Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 7:00 pm at the Eaton County Courthouse, 1045 Independence Blvd, Charlotte, MI for the purpose of affording citizens an opportunity to comment on the expenditure of this year’s CDBG Emergency Repair Program housing funds.  Additionally, a close out public hearing will be conducted for the purpose of affording citizens an opportunity to submit comments and receive a final report on the completion of the previous year’s CDBG Emergency Repair Program housing funds.

All CDBG Emergency Repair Program housing funds assist low to very low-income households in Eaton County to correct urgent problems within their home that may pose an imminent health and/or safety hazard to the occupants.  Assistance may be provided in the form of an interest free loan from the County to be repaid on the sale or title transfer of the property.  All CDBG projects benefit at least 51% low to moderate income persons; no persons will be or were displaced as a result of the project.

Eaton County proposes to use up to $37,049 in CDBG program funds to administer the current years Emergency Repair Program.

Last program year assistance was provided to four homes in the amount of $75,708.80. 

Interested citizens are invited to comment on this program in person or may send comments before the hearing to the Eaton County Community Development & Housing Dept. 1045 Independence Blvd, Charlotte MI.
