With many of our thoughts now turned to preparations for Christmas festivities, one item we wanted to be sure you put on your calendars is Fill-A-Cop Car.  This is an annual event where local law enforcement agencies with patrol vehicles are stationed outside various grocery stores throughout the County to accept donations of non-perishable food items that are collected and taken to area food banks.

Hundreds of Eaton County citizens every year show overwhelming generosity by donating during this event.  Parents oftentimes use this event to teach their kids the spirit of giving to people less fortunate.  The event this year is scheduled for Saturday, December 4th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the following locations:

            Carl’s Supermarket in Dimondale

            Dollar General in Potterville

            Wal-Mart in Delta Township

Kroger’s West Saginaw in Delta Township

            Wal-Mart in Charlotte

The items collected will be taken to the Presbyterian Church in Dimondale, The Methodist Church in Potterville, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul St. Gerard Conference in Lansing, the Siren Shelter, and Helping Hands in Charlotte.

Law Enforcement officers from the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office, Charlotte Police Department, and Potterville Police Department will be at these locations accepting your donations.   Hundreds of families are helped as a result of the kindness displayed by your act of giving.

On behalf of these law enforcement agencies. area food banks, and families throughout Eaton County, thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness.

Yours in Public Safety,

Sheriff Tom Reich
