From March 19-26, 2023, Eaton County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 791 calls for service/events. Our higher call volumes occurred in the following areas: Traffic Stops-131, Suspicious Subject/Situation/Vehicle-56, Assist Citizen/Motorist Assists-33, Traffic Violations-33, Alarms-28, Shoplifting Complaints-28, Traffic Hazards-21, Domestic Disputes-20, Check Well-Beings-19, Car/Deer Accidents-17, Larcenies-15, Property Damage Crashes-15, EMS Assists-11, Weapons Violations-9, Disorderly Person or Subject-8, and Arguments or Verbal Altercations-6.
FREE Recreational Safety Classes –
The FREE Recreational Safety Classes held each year at the Sheriff’s Office are highly anticipated and very popular. I am excited to kick off the 2023 Recreational Safety Class schedule with our FREE ATV/ORV Safety Class. The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting this class:
Tuesday and Wednesday, April 17 and 19, 2023 The class will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each night in the Sheriff’s Office Dep. Donald E. Rice Training Room, 1025 Independence Blvd, Charlotte.
Class size is limited to 25 students. Any student under the age of 10 will need to have a parent stay with them. Students will need to bring 2 #2 pencils and a face mask if you choose.
The class is free and registration is done online at www.michigan.gov/DNR. Click on Education and Safety, click on Recreational Safety and Hunter Education, click on Search for Classes, scroll to find the type of class you are interested in, click on View Upcoming Events, scroll to find the class being taught at the Eaton County Sheriff's Office, then click on View to register.
