The Eaton County Parks and Recreation Millage was passed by voters on November 8, 2022. A portion of these funds have been set aside for the development of a competitive grant program for communities within Eaton County. This competitive grant program will support acquisition,improvements, and/or development. The County wishes to acknowledge the hard work of the Parks and Recreation workgroup, which is made up of Eaton County Board of Commissioner members and County staff. In light of these efforts, the County is pleased to announce a new competitive grant program—Eaton County Parks Community Grant Program—which is now up and running and accepting applications through Friday, July 28, 2023 at 5:00 PM (EST).
The Eaton County Parks Community Grant Program was created to assist local communities with planning, purchasing, preliminary engineering/design, and construction costs directly related to parks and open space projects located in the County. Beginning October 1, 2023 our first round of funding will be $400,000.
